Police Advocacy

The Impact

A Leader in Advocacy

Bridgeway will partner with local law enforcement agencies to bridge current service gaps.

Bridgeway’s Police Advocate will work directly with law enforcement to ride along and respond with officers to domestic violence-related calls for service. After the scene has been assessed for safety, the Advocate will meet with survivors to provide crisis intervention services and resource referrals and linkages.

Bridgeway’s Advocates will also coordinate revisits of victims' homes with officers to offer additional support and resources.

About

We want to offer support to victims of abuse 24/7.

Bridgeway’s Police Advocate will be located on-site at law enforcement agencies to offer support to officers responding to incidents of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.

We want to collaborate within the community.

By using LAP 2.0 alongside local law enforcement officers, we will gain a crucial point of access for victims of abuse and violence to get help to those who need it the most- those with a high risk of being killed by their abusers. If an officer determines a victim is at high risk, he or she calls Bridgeway’s 24-hour Hotline for additional support.
